More rural areas in Riley County will soon have fiber broadband access available from WTC.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly recently announced that WTC is one of 12 recipients of grants that will result in nearly $22.7 million in investment funding for high-speed broadband access projects across 14 rural Kansas counties. These grants come via the latest round of Broadband Acceleration Grants aimed at bringing essential internet access to Kansas Communities. Facilitated by the Kansas Office of Broadband Development, this latest round of grants brings the program’s total investment for broadband infrastructure since 2020 to more than $41.5 million.

“WTC is honored to be awarded a grant through the BAG 4 Program,” stated Jeff Wick, CEO of WTC. “The Kansas Office of Broadband Development has been an excellent partner and without this funding, we wouldn't be able to serve these rural Kansas locations,” he added.
